Leading with Integrity

Business analysts empower organizational change.

These changes can occur at any level: across the entire organization, within a department, a team, a new software solution, a component of a solution, or even a single feature.

Even small changes can significantly benefit the organization and provide substantial value, but they can also impact people—the employees, end users, customers, teams, and even society at large.

"Integrity" is a holistic term, reflecting the depth with which business analysts should consider available options, select those that are ethical, and inform relevant stakeholders about possible risks:

  • How might people and specific roles in the organization be affected? (e.g., Will a certain role become redundant? Will someone lose their job? Or can we help transition them to a new role?)

  • How will business processes and rules be impacted? (Do we need to review and update outdated procedures?)

  • How will the organization as a whole be affected? (e.g., Will it remain financially viable after deploying the solution? Or is the proposed solution financially disadvantageous?)

  • Are there any cultural, social, or even environmental impacts that we should consider?

Leading change with integrity means taking responsibility for the actions you take.
