Business analysis doesn't stop once a solution is delivered. Business analysts must ensure that the solution is used effectively and that it delivers the value it was designed to provide. This involves making ongoing assessments and decisions:
Is the solution being used? Or are users reverting to old habits? For example, a manual report generation process was automated, but users may still be creating reports manually.
If the solution isn't being used, why? Do users need training and support? Or does the solution need improvements to meet its intended purpose?
If the solution is being used, is it delivering the expected value? If not, why? What further improvements should be considered?
Is the solution being used to its full capacity? Are users aware of all its capabilities and how it can help them?
Are users following the intended design of the solution? Or have they developed workarounds? What can we do to address these adaptations and better support them?
It's not enough to simply implement a change. That change needs to be sustained and embedded into the new reality, and business analysts play a crucial role in making that happen.
