The fourth knowledge area in business analysis is Strategy Analysis.

This area focuses on the tasks business analysts perform to identify an existing need and enable the enterprise to address that need. The resulting strategy must align with both higher and lower-level strategies within the organization.

The four key tasks in Strategy Analysis are:

1. Analyze the Current State

2. Define the Future State

3. Assess Risks

4. Define the Change Strategy

These tasks can be applied at various levels—not just at the enterprise level. Whether you're working on a division, department, product, project, or even a single system module, Strategy Analysis is crucial to driving successful outcomes.
