Requirements Life Cycle Management is the third of six knowledge areas described in the BABOK Guide.
This knowledge area focuses on the tasks that business analysts perform to manage and maintain requirements and business analysis information from inception through to retirement.
It includes five key tasks:
Trace Requirements
Maintain Requirements
Prioritize Requirements
Assess Requirements Changes
Approve Requirements
The goal of these tasks is to ensure that various types of requirements are aligned, that the solution addresses them, and that control over both requirements and designs is maintained throughout the project.
